Thai girlfriend no trust, no visa,

As from January 2010 any clients we take on we ask for a very small deposit and then ask for the balance when the visa has been issued. We need to be sure who is series about getting a visa for their Thai girlfriend to come back to the UK for a holiday.

When clients first approach us we ask many questions about their work in the UK, where they live, how many times they have visited their girlfriend in Thailand, where the Thai girlfriend is in Thailand, does the girlfriend work, if so doing what job etc.

We need to ask certain questions so we can be certain that the client will qualify and is in a position to apply for a UK visa for their Thai girlfriend.

One sponsor that contacted us originally in January 2010 said that he wanted to get a 3 month tourist visa for his girlfriend. Having not heard back from him I contacted him today and asked if he wanted to move forward with the application. He explained that he would like his girlfriend to come to the UK, but doesn’t trust to send her money as he thinks she will run off with it. The lack of trust from this man is some what worrying.

He would like his girlfriend to trust him while she is in the UK, 1000’s of miles away from home and from her supporting friends and family, that he will care for her every need and ensure she remains safe in the UK.

He would also like the British embassy to trust that he will take his responsibilities as a visa sponsor seriously and that he will take care of his Thai girlfriend while she is in the UK.

However he is not able to trust his girlfriend with a small amount of money, an amount of money that he can easily afford to lose. What does that tell me about this relationship? We all know that on many occasions Thai girls will take what money they can and disappear. But we are talking about a small amount of money here. His girlfriend really wanted to visit him in the UK, she had spoken to our staff on several occasions and was excited at the thought of visiting England.

A relationship without trust is no relationship at all, I would imagine that this Thai girl will no longer wait around for him to arrive for a two week holiday. His lack of trust might make him number 2 on the list.

The 5 steps of grief after being refused a UK Visa

You might laugh, but how will you react if you are refused a UK visa? You will not be happy that is for sure.

From our meetings with British boyfriends these are the steps they go through after their Thai girlfriend have been refused a UK visa

The 5 steps of grief after being refused a UK Visa

  1. Denial — This cannot be so, the embassy has made a mistake, they haven’t read the application correctly, no this isn’t right. We should have a visa, check to make sure that it is our paper work and application.
  2. Anger — I am not having this, I am going to complain to the British ambassador at the embassy. I know people that have got visas and not in the same position as me and my Thai girlfriend. What about all those other people that enter the UK every year to work illegally.
  3. Bargaining — Telephone calls to the embassy pleading “ Please re consider, followed by trips to their local UK MP “Please help me get a visa for my Thai girlfriend we are so in love”.
  4. Depression — "The embassy have got it in for us, we are never going to get a visa. How am I going to spend time with my girlfriend now ?
  5. Acceptance — "Finally understanding that mistakes have been made, and its not the end of the world. Perhaps the visa could be applied for again but this time with a better understanding of what the embassy require.

Getting your girlfriend a visa is not a lottery, it isn’t a game of chance. The secret to getting a visa is good preparation. When the visa application is presented to the UK border officer, he (she) will be looking for more than an application form and black biro pen.

Every statement you make must be backed up with hard evidence. This evidence will take you months to collate and prepare.

What is Minimum age for Thai girlfriend and a UK visa

My Thai girlfriend is 17 years old; we met via my father who has lived in Thailand since divorcing my mother 12 years ago. My Thai girlfriend lives in the same rural village as my father’s new wife.

We talk every day and would like her to come to the UK to see my friends, my life and British culture. What is Minimum age for Thai girlfriend and a UK visa?

A Thai national can get a tourist visa from any age without restriction if it is a family member traveling with them, i.e. mother or father,

The rules change when a British boyfriend is the sponsor of the UK tourist visa application.

To ensure that Thai girls are not being taken advantage of, the British embassy will not look at any relationship prior to the Thai girlfriend being 18 years of age. Allowing for the passing of time to demonstrate that a real relationship has formed between the British sponsor and the Thai girlfriend, the minimum age for a Thai girlfriend UK visa is 19.

the British embassy will not look at any relationship prior to the Thai girlfriend being 18 years of age.

I would like my Thai girlfriend to live with me in the UK.

My Thai girlfriend who i met in Pattaya on holiday is with me in the UK the visa will expire in April 2010. Can we extend the tourist visa here or will she need to return to Thailand?

I would like my Thai girlfriend to live with me in the UK.

I would like my Thai girlfriend to live with me in the UK. I own a business and she would have a job with my company.

Any advice please.

Thai girlfriend is in the UK on a tourist visa

If your Thai girlfriend is in the UK on a tourist visa, she will have no choice but to return to Thailand.

When In Thailand you have three options

1) Wait 6 months then apply for a new tourist visa
2) Get married in Thailand and apply for uk settlement visa
3) Apply for a fiancée visa which will allow her to travel to the UK for 6 months, if in that time you marry, she will then be able to extend the visa for 2 years, after the 2 years she will be able to extend it indefinitely

The good thing about getting the fiancée visa is that you can do most of the work now before she returns in April and then when she returns in April the application could be made within 10 days of her return to Thailand and within 3 more weeks will be returning to you in the UK. You will not need to return to Thailand. Only Fem will be needed here.

We can help you obtain a UK fiancée visa . If you are ready to move forward we will be able to give both you and your partner a list of requirement that you will need to full fill to ensure the embassy will grant a uk finacee visa.

Thai wife UK state pension

Thai wife UK state pension

The world often isn’t fair and sometimes deals the toughest cards to the people with the least in society. As unfair as it may seem any man on a UK state pension with no other income will not be able to get his Thai wife back to the UK to live on either a spouse or settlement visa. This means that even if he is married his wife will not be able to obtain a visa to live in the UK

Age discrimination UK
In December 2003 the UK committed to legislating against age discrimination under the EC Directive on equal treatment. Refusing to allow a Thai wife to live in the UK with a British husband that only receives a state pension has been found not to
break the age discrimination rules.

Obviously men over the age of 65 that cannot get their Thai wife back to the UK to live feel that it is only about age. On occasions the men get their wife to apply for a UK marriage visa in Bangkok and when it is refused then get a solicitor in the UK to appeal against the decision listing age discrimination as the reason for appealing the visa refusal. None of these appeals have been successful.

Let’s look at the reasons why.

Thai wife UK state pension

We were promised a pension for every man or woman that works in the UK. Every week we pay a small amount of money as a national insurance payment. With the promise of continued free health care and a State pension from the age of 65 (for men).

We do however have the chance to privately save for our golden years. The truth is that people living on a state pension are living on the poverty line with very little money to spare. For many decades we have been advised to take out private pensions or make investments that will not be means tested at the time of retirement. So throughout our lives we all received the same information. Some people managed to get a private pension or make investments while others sadly for many reasons were not able to.

Part of the requirements that the visa officer looks at while deciding the outcome of a visa application is - will the Thai wife become a burden on the British state? If the British husband only has a state pension then the Thai wife will be using some of that money to live on therefore she will be a burden on the British state.
The only option available to a British pensioner with a Thai wife and a state pension is to apply for a UK tourist visa. This will at least let you spend 6 months together at a time in the UK.

Thai wife UK visa information 2010

The year is 2010 and there is a lot of information readily available on the internet regarding the rules of immigration and migration from Thailand to the UK. Yet people make so many big mistakes and as a result have no change of getting a visa for their Thai wife or girlfriend.

Often the mistakes they make are so big that it will be many years before the UK border agency would ever grant a visa.

This week a 22 year old man from the UK came into our visa office in Pattaya and explained that he would like to get his Thai wife back to the UK.
We asked some of the basic questions like
“How long have you know your Thai wife”
“When did you marry?”
“Did you marry in Bangkok or was it a Thai village marriage”
“How old is your Thai wife”

We were shocked at the response that we were given

I have known my Thai wife for 3 months. We met on the internet and we feel in love. We speak every day on the internet. I came to Thailand two weeks ago and got married in Bangkok and then a Thai marriage in the Village. My Thai wife is 17 years old. We want her to come to the UK so she can work and earn money as her family is poor.

Thai wife UK visa information 2010

I thought it best that I give him the bad news by first explaining the Thai wife UK visa information 2010. This is upto date information readily available on the internet that he really should have researched before getting so involved.
Even if married you cannot get a UK spouse visa or UK settlement visa until your wife and you are both at least 21 years of age. That means if his Thai wife is 17 today, she will not be able to live in the UK for another 4 years.
Because the Thai wife is under 18 a UK tourist visa will not be issued.
His Thai wife cannot get any visa to the UK at this time.

Needless to say that he was devastated and angry.

We tell people every day, do not marry your Thai girlfriend to obtain a visa, being married will not get you a visa.

To any outsider it is obvious that this couple does not know each other and as she will remain in Thailand and he will have to return to the UK, with the chance of 2 two week holidays to Thailand it is unlikely that they will ever get the change to know each other.

Even if the Thai wife was 21, in the same circumstances other UK visa requirements would result with the visa being denied.

IF you meet a Thai lady on the internet and it is three months before you first visit her in Thailand, when you arrive in Thailand it will classed as you have known each other for one day. Meeting in person is when you can start counting the amount of time.

The visa office in this case would have looked at the application and seen that this was his first trip to visit his Thai partner, knowing her for less than two weeks. The visa would be denied.

We tell people every day, do not marry your Thai girlfriend to obtain a visa, being married will not get you a visa.
