Can my 19 year old Thai wife and our baby get a visa to come to the uk?

Thai wife and our baby get a visa to come to the uk?

My 19 year old Thai wife is pregnant with our first child, we are not married. We have been in a relationship for 1 year and I would like for her to come to the UK, if possible I would like my baby born in the UK, if not I would be just as happy if they could visit me after my new baby is born.

The UK visas available to your Thai girlfriend are limited to just a tourist visa. The reasons you would not be able to apply for a UK Settlement visa or UK fiancée visa is that both of you have to be 21 years or older.

Thai doctors do not recommend that pregnant ladies take long haul flights after 6 months pregnancy. Getting a visa could take you several months to get all of the paper work and documents together.

The problems you have ahead of you.

If you Thai girlfriend applies for a UK Tourist visa and is called for an interview at the Embassy, seeing your girlfriend pregnant, the embassy clearing officer could take the view that she is only going to England to have the baby, or that she wil not return to Thailand at the end of the visa. These simple reasons are enough for the clearing officer to decline the visa.

Your 19 year old Thai wife will not get a UK settlement visa, she could apply for a UK tourist – visitor’s visa.

Thai Girlfriend Travel England and Ireland

Hi I am a dual Irish and British citizen. I met my Thai girlfriend in Pattaya and we speak on the phone every day.

I would like to apply for a visa so my Thai girlfriend can travel to England and Ireland. I would like is so she can come to England to see where I live and then travel to Ireland to meet my family. Will my Thai girlfriend be able to travel to both England and Ireland on a British tourist visa?

This will not be an achievable. Getting a visa for England will be the easier of the two as you the sponsor live there etc. For your girlfriend to be able to travel to Ireland, a separate visa will be needed, a visa from the Irish embassy.

A British visa will allow your Thai girlfriend to visit

Scotland
Wales
England
Northern Ireland

An Irish visa will allow your Thai girlfriend to travel to

Ireland.

I am not recommending or giving the following information as advice, but only explaining what other people in your situation have done in the same position.
After obtaining a UK tourist visa, your girlfriend will be able to visit England and Northern Ireland. If you were to book a flight from England to Belfast and then hire a car, from what I understand there are no checks at the Northern Ireland – Southern Ireland border,

The correct way to enter both England and Ireland would be to make two separate visa application, one with the British embassy and one with the Irish Embassy. But knowing how difficult it can be to obtain visas, I have a strong feeling that one of the two will be refused, the country you do not reside in.

One quick question

One quick question although i live on my own i have not got divorced as yet from ex wife but been seperated for six years,i can prove this via a solicitors letter, but am little concerned if this will affect the visa application for my Thai girlfriend, we only want a holiday visa.

When you are in a relationship with a Thai partner, even though you may be married but separated, you will be ok to get a visa, or to put it a better way, the UK embassy in Bangkok will not hold it against you. You may be married, but you are only applying for a UK Tourist Visa

3 Thai girlfriend UK Visa Questions 1 Answer

My Thai partner has been to the Uk before ?

When I spoke at length with this gentleman from the UK, I learnt that the thai girlfriend had been to the UK 3 years ago with a previous boyfriend, she had not been to the UK with the new boyfriend. For a visa application this means she has no immigration history with this relationship.

Would she be able to stay in the Uk after the 6 months if we got married?

The thai lady will not be able to get married in the UK on a tourist visa, it will be very unlikely that you will receive a fiancée visa if she has not been to the UK to visit you previously.

Would it be easier if she had a Job to come to in the UK ?

I guess that the job would be an unskilled job. The UK immigration department are not going to issue a visa for a Thai person to come to the UK to do an unskilled job. 2009 1 out of every 4 people between the age of 18 and 25 are out of work. The UK really doesn’t need any more unskilled workers right now.

The only visa which is suitable in this situation is a Tourist visa, or a visitors visa. This will allow your Thai partner to visit the UK for up to six months. At the end of this period of time they will have to return to Thailand, but it would then be possible to apply for a Settlement visa (if you are married) or a finacee visa to get married in the UK

Holiday in Pattaya and a new Thai girlfriend

Holiday in Pattaya and a new Thai girlfriend

I have just returned from Pattaya after two weeks. I met a Thai lady and have fallen in love with her. After our two weeks together and meeting her family in Bangkok it has been agreed that I would like to take my new Thai girlfriend back to my home in England for 6 months on a tourist visa.

At the moment she has no passport and therefore in the next month she will apply for one in Bangkok, I understand that once a passport is granted that a visa should take less than 3 months , my intentions is to come again in November and return to England with my girlfriend. Could you therefore give me any instructions for this purpose?

Men that visit Pattaya for a two week holiday

The amount of men that visit Pattaya for a two week holiday and return to England in fill belief that they are truly in love. The British embassy hears this every day of the week and do not take such relationships serious. It would be a waste of time and money to make a visa application after only a two week holiday romance. The British embassy likes to see a relationship that has taken place over many months with evidence to back it up. In probability this relationship will be over well before a successful application could be made.

UK Visa information 2009

2009 and the UK visa rules

The credit crunch of 2009 pushed many British men back from Thailand to the UK. Many of these men are now trying to get their Thai girlfriends and wife’s back to the UK, but with no money and no job, there is little chance of a visa being issued.

UK Visa question 2009

I have been living in Thailand for the last 6 years.
Me and my new Thai girlfriend lived together for over two years. She always took care of my children. The children are not hers but form a former relationship I was in with a Thai lady.

As we lived together for two years, we have no evidence of being together, her name is not in the Thai house book, and her driving license is still registered to her parents’ home in the village. We have no letters, phone records or Emails.
As I returned to the UK because I have run out of money and cannot afford to stay in Thailand I am now living with my sisters in the UK. I am looking for work, but with the credit crunch there isnt much work about and what is available is low pay, so I will not be able to get my own place for a while.
I would like to get my girlfriend a visa so she can come and live with me here in the UK, if she could work also we could get a place between us. My sister says that she will be the sponsor. Do you think a she will get a Visa.

UK Visa information 2009

Only married partners may apply for a UK settlement visa, this is the only visa available that will allow your Thai partner back to the UK to live and to work. As you are not married you will not be granted a UK settlement visa. As you have no money at this time, it is likely your Thai girlfriend will be refused a tourist visa (UK visitor visa).
The other problem you will face with this application is the lack of evidence to show you have been together for 2 years. The embassy will only believe what you can demonstrate. So if the first emails, letters or calls are 3 months old but you have been together for 3 years, the embassy will only class the relationship as 3 months old.
Your sister will not be able to sponsor your Thai girlfriend; you are in the relationship not your sister.
The problems from the sponsor side are that large that there is no possible chance of a visa being issued at this time. We have not taken into account your Thai girlfriends information. For instance if she was looking after your children in Thailand she is not in full term employment? What about a place to live?

The best advice in this situation is to get your life back on track in the UK. Getting work, some saving behind you and a place to call home. When you have all this in place, then it will be time to look at the visa application.

Just because you are married does not guarantee a UK visa

This is another email we received from a British husband regarding a visa for his Thai wife. His wife was intending on visiting him in the UK for Christmas 2009, but the visa was refused.

Email for British Husband about his Thai wife and her UK visa application

Me and my Thai wife are actually married now already here in Thailand, and living and working in BKK. She own a business, and I'm just an online international rep., So as far as the only visa we might be looking at around Christmas or so, would just be a simple UK tourist visa. Since we are married, and she is only coming for a few weeks, I know that is guaranteed to go through. After doing our marriage myself, I know for that visa we can obtain in on our own fairly easy, especially being in BKK.

Just because you are married does not guarantee a UK visa for your Thai wife.

This visa was refused by the UK immigration department. No interview was given, just a visa refusal. No matter how many times I tell people the information seams not to stick. So here is the message again. Just because you are married does not guarantee a UK visa for your Thai wife.

When you wife is applying for a UK tourist visa, you will need to show

  • That she will be returning to Thailand
  • That she will be able to travel back independent to her husband
  • There is constant contact with evidence between husband and wife.
  • There is suitable accommodation in the UK for the duration of her stay
  • While in the UK the Thai wife will have enough funds for the complete duration of her planned stay.

If the Thai wife had visited the UK within 6 months prior to this fresh visa application, even with all the evidence required she would be refused the UK visa.

Calling your Thai girlfriend on Skype

Calling your Thai girlfriend on Skype
You probably know by now that if you are looking to bring your Thai girlfriend back to the UK for a holiday, you will need to provide evidence of regular contact. IT can be expensive calling Thailand from the UK. There are now different calling card services and telephone contracts that will allow you to call your Thai girlfriend in Thailand from the Uk for a cheap rate, but the cheapest rate of all is Skype.

Skype is great, you can talk, you can video talk, you can message and all of the contact is recorded on your hard drive. When you are ready to apply for your girlfriend’s visa, just print off your skype history and you have evidence of telephone and message contact between you and your Thai girlfriend.

This is what Skype history looks like

Contacting your Thai girlfriend on Skype

Make sure that the contact history you provide with the visa application is over many months, the longer the better. Use both chat and text message. Skype will record the date and how long you talked to your Thai girlfriend. It will also hold all text message made between you. Ensure that the text is suitable for reading at the embassy, no rude text….
Type in messages about your life in the UK, your relationship together and your plans for the future. This will help when the visa application is made.

Thai Girlfriend and Dont want to get married

We get asked questions that the answerers are obvious, and the real reason for the visa application is obvious, in this case, my guess is the UK boyfriend wants to get his Thai girlfriend that he dosent really know back to the UK so she can work, he says he dosent want to marry, but thinks it is the only way to get her a visa.

Thai Girlfriend and Dont want to get married

This is the UK boyfriends first email to us

I have a girlfriend in Thailand; I am planning to visit Thailand next year to meet her and get to know her better. I would like her to live in the United Kingdom with me and i know she needs a work permit and a visa.

I was told that she will be refused a visa to live in England for many reasons. I understand it won’t be easy, I also know that marriage will give a good chance for her to move to England. I am eighteen years old; she is twenty six years old. I don't just won’t to marry her so she can move to England with me, and i don't plan to marry her so soon at a young age, i will ask for marriage later when the time is right, the main reason is love.

I don't know where to start with all this. I know first i will keep visiting and get to know her really well, but how should i go about marriage with her so she can live with me in England? Do i visit Thailand as a tourist for a couple of months and marry her within that time? and sort out all the required information needed for her immigration to England? After we are married and we are still in Thailand do we request a visa for her still within that time so she can move back with me to England? I really require your help and in the most detailed reply you can provide, i am very grateful if you can be a great help towards my relationship. Also i thought a visa to visit Thailand was a bank card like a visa in England? Someone told me this is not a bank account can you explain what a visa is to visit Thailand?

I think maybe this is a bank card were if i request money from a cash machine in Thailand it will withdraw the cash from my English bank account and transfer this to a Thailand cash machine ready to collect? like a visa card as a shortcut to my bank account in England? am i correct? Thank you for your help.

This is my visa advice to him

HI Ashley

My first bit of advice is DO NOT MARRY FOR A VISA, that is crazy,

Second always apply for a tourist visa first, please note you DO NOT HAVE TO BE MARRIED To get a tourist visa.

Third TAKE YOUR TIME

You need to prove that you have known your Thai partner for longer than six months, you can do this be calling her on the telephone keeping phone bills, Skype, emails, letters. Visit her in Thailand and check into the hotel under both names – not just your name.

When you are in Thailand book a flight with her and keep the boarding cards.

Takes lots of photos, not just on the beach.

Keep all evidence of the relationship

If you can do the above we can get you a visa. Even with the evidence that I have asked for you will still need to prove that your partner will return to Thailand at the end of the visa. We know what the embassy needs to see so we are certain with your help we can obtain you a UK tourist visa, (without getting married)

It takes many months to obtain a visa,
If you would more information, please let me know, BUT DO NOT GET MARRIED TO OBTAIN A VISA

UK boyfriends final reply

I am not getting married to obtain a visa. I want her to live in the uk with me but marriage is the only way for her to live with me in england. What is a visa when traveling to another country? is it a bank account? is it a shortcut to withdraw money from your bank account at home which then transfers it to a cash machine in thailand?

Also how should i do this entire scenario? when the time is right and i have known her long enough and i have decided to marry her, should i visit thailand as a tourist and within that time marry her? Then do everything that is needed for her to move to thailand, will i be able to marry her as a tourist and sort out all the things needed for her to move back to england with me all within my time allowed there as a tourist?

All i wan't is for her to live with me in england but to do that i need to marry her.. and before i marry her i will visit her and get to know her better.

Also about my girlfriend, i know alot about thai's, my girlfriend is not interested in money and certainly not interested in staying in Thailand or moving, she is a decent Thai girl, one i love very much. Do i have no choice but to pay money to her parents if i marry her? she says that she is not sure if i have to pay but if it is an option she would rather i did not pay any money. She only wants to be with me.

My final thoughts

This guy has been to Thailand once, had a great holiday and met a local bar girl that kept him warm on those cold Thai evenings (you know what I mean). On returning to the UK finding love is not as easy as dropping 20 pounds into a local girls lap. He obviously is emailing or calling his holiday lover, and that is all she is.

I can not give this person any more advice and i doubt he will be in contact with her in six months time. The embassy would never grant her a visa to visit him in the UK. If he were to return to Thailand I guess he would find a new lover, one that is less than 26. Thailand has alot of lovers on offer and it is easy to find a new one every day of the week.

My real advice to him is, forget Thailand, build a life in the UK and come here for a holiday, at 18 you are too young to play around with the Thai ladys of Pattaya, they will eat him alive..

Taking UK Visa Application for granted

No Matter how much advice we give out, if the person on the other end of the email isnt happy with the advice, all we hear is "but the uk government will be breaking this law and that law and should be prosecuted under than law"

The UK man applying for a visa for his Thai familys situation

We were contacted recently buy a UK man that had lived for the last 5 years in Thailand,

  • Has A Thai Wife
  • Has a child to the wife
  • The wife has a child from a previous relationship

He is returning to the UK as he has ran out of fund to live in Thailand and is returning to the UK

  • No Job in the UK
  • No Home in the UK
  • No Savings in the UK

If he applied for a UK Visa Today

I explained that if he applied for a UK settlement visa today for his Thai wife, he would be refused, the main reason would be that he is unable to provide for the family back in the UK.

He would be able to take his child back to the UK as long as the child has been issued with a UK Passport.

We also advised him to find full time employment and find a home suitable for the family. After which time a UK settlement visa for his wife would have more of a chance of succses.

But the problem will be the previous child from a different father. We are not saying that it is impossible to get a UK visa for this child, but it is not straight forward. For starters who has legal rights over the child?

This is the email that i received back from the UK citizen

Thanks for the reply. What I was getting at was my lack of understanding here. If I am living in the UK for 6-7 months, have set up a home and are working, along with my 3 year old British citizen daughter, and I then apply for a visa for my wife of 3/4 years standing, and our step-daughter who has lived with is for 6 years, then is it really on the cards that the UK Govt would deny a visa to them both,

thereby depriving my 3 year old her human right of abode with her mother as contained in the European Human Rights Act?

Surely they would then be liable for prosecution under this act, particularly if we had demonstrated that we were not a burden on the state, but merely a normal family. I realise that this may be outside of the sphere of your normal visa dealings (Eg middle aged falang wants to take his new Thai girlfriend to the Uk for a holiday), but I would appreciate some up-front advice. I also await details of costs, time frames etc as requested in my previous email.

Why people get refused UK Visas

In a nutshell, the UK immigration department have strict guidelines about issuing visas and with other peoples children this strictness will show. People in the UK believe they have rights to bring foreign wifes and husbands back to the UK, the UK immigration department has a right to refuse any visa application and do daily.

It will take time and evidence to get all of this family to the UK, how much time is impossible to say.

Ripped off by a Thailand Visa Company

Ripped off by a Thailand Visa Company

This is a real situation that happens to guys from the UK trying to get a visa for their Thai girlfriend.

When dealing with a visa consultant in Bangkok or Pattaya, do not give them any money. Some of the visa companies offer a no visa - no fee, however they require that you pay money upfront that they will return to your if the visa is refused. Why do they need money upfront, if they are going to give the money back, why do they need it first. Certain visa companies make the application and hope that the Thai lady will be called for an interview. Then if the visa is refused they will say they cannot give you the money back as it was not their doing the visa was refused but was something that the Thai girlfriend had said while in the interview.

If a UK visa application is made correctly the simple fact is that an interview will not be required. Only a shaky visa application will result in an interview.

Then after you have been refused, not only will your money not be return as promised, but also you could be required to pay extra money for the return of your documents. For any guy living in the UK he is to far away to control any of this situation and Thai people naturally do not like confrontation.

Getting ripped off by a Thailand Visa Company.

Take some simple advice and you will not get ripped off by a Thailand Visa company. Do not part with any money without a visa. Do not give any money upfront. Ask for a printed or email explaining the total and final costs.

Do not part with any money without a visa

If the visa company cannot give an exact price for obtaining a visa, you can be sure the price will increase, do not use the services of a company that cannot give you a fixed one off price.

If a Thailand Visa company tells you that you must marry to get a UK visa, they are lying. In fact a settlement visa is much more difficult to obtain than a simple Tourist Visa. The reason the company tries to get you to apply for a Settlement or Fiancee visa is because there fees are higher for this visa.

What Is The Easiest Visa To Get For Thai To UK

What Is The Easiest Visa To Get For Thai To UK

Ask different people the question and each will give you a different answer. Obviously it is impossible to give one answer that would be best for all Thai nationals. Visa consultants in Thailand will often tell you that a fiancée visa is the easiest visa to get for a Thai. If you are married the same visa consultant will tell you that a settlement visa is the easiest.

This is so wrong. Firstly the cost of either a settlement visa or fiancée visa is much higher than a tourist visa. While a tourist visa takes 3-4 weeks for a response from the British embassy a settlement of fiancée visa takes 3 months to get a response. The evidence that needs to be provided to the embassy for them to issue a settlement of fiancée visa is much greater than the evidence needed for a tourist visa.

A UK tourist visa is the easiest visa to get for a Thai

A UK tourist visa is the easiest visa to get for a Thai on the first application. If the Thai national has not visited the UK before and is married to you, we would still strongly advise that you apply for a tourist visa first.

When the UK immigration department issues a Settlement visa, the Thai has the right to remain in the UK for two years, is able to work, is able to get treated on the national health. Why would it be easier to be issued a visa that costs the UK more?

The easiest visa to get for a Thai is a UK tourist visa.

The chances of obtaining any visa other than a tourist visa on the first application is not likely and that is why we say the easiest visa to get for a Thai is a UK tourist visa.

The tourist visa is valid for upto 6 months.
When in the UK the Thai national will not be able to work
They will have to return to the UK prior to the end of the six month period.
When applying for a tourist visa, even though they can be issued for 6 months, never apply for this amount of time as you are more than likely to be refused, after all how many people can really say they are a tourist of the UK for six months.

Thai child UK settlement visa

Thai child settlement visa

It is very common that when a Thai wife has received a settlement visa and has lived with her British Husband in the UK for a period of time they will make in roads and enquiries with regards to obtaining a settlement visa for there son/daughter to live with you as a family in the UK and like any mother you can imagine she will be worrying and missing her Thai child immensely but your Thai wife will definitely wish to make sure that everything is prepared for there Thai child before applying for a visa.

With an application for a Thai child if you are not careful it can get messy with regards to who has the full custody of the Thai child be it the mother or father etc. To the British Embassy the custody issue is very important to them to confirm and ascertain who is the guardian for the child because they don't want to be issuing visas to Thai children when the mother does not have sole custody this can cause major problems that the British Embassy does not want to be involved with.

The first step with an application for a Thai child is to ascertain who is the legal guardian and sometimes with the language barrier it can be difficult to explain the details to your Thai wife and make them understand the legalities of the situation.

If your Thai wife was not legally married to her previous Thai husband/boyfriend when the baby was born and the baby has your wife's previous maiden name then you can apply for a settlement visa confidently knowing that your Thai wife is the sole custodian of the Thai child. In this case it is always better for your Thai wife to go to her local Amphur "Town Hall" in the village were she is from and they will give her a confirmation letter stating that she takes care of the child alone with no input from the father.

If your Thai wife was married legally to her previous Thai husband/boyfriend and then divorced you have to check who was given custody of the Thai child and if it was the father then your Thai wife has to apply through the Thai judicial courts for sole custody of the child and this has to be signed and agreed by the father of the child. If this is the case then it can take anything up to 3 months and can be very frustrating.

If your Thai wife was legally married and she was widowed and you have a copy of her previous husbands death certificate then your Thai wife has automatic custody of the Thai child in question.

When you are applying for a settlement visa for a Thai child you have to remember that when the British Embassy officer is looking at the visa application they will always have in the back of there mind that your Thai wife did leave her child behind when she came to reside with you in the UK so for the Thai child to be issued with a settlement visa you have to show firm and genuine reasons why the Thai child would have a better life in the UK and why when the Thai child has lived in Thailand without the mother for a period of time normally with a family member are you applying for a visa now.

A Thai common law wife cannot live in the UK

In the UK, if you have lived with a partner with several years, (ie you are a man and they are a lady) you will referred to as common law man and wife. A common law wife, even though is not married to the man has certain rights. If the relationship was to break, then the common law wife would have a lawful claim to assets within relationship, ie home, car, money etc.

When you are in a long term relationship with a Thai national, if they are looking to move to the UK to live, the UK immigration department will not take into account how long you have been together. So being in a common law wife relationship with a Thai national will not help in any way for them to be able to move and live in the UK.

A Thai common law wife cannot live in the UK

Showing the visa officer that you share a house in Thailand, have lived together for 5 years will not get you a visa to allow your Thai common law life to live in the UK.
This is the case even when you have children. The UK immigration department will only give a settlement visa to a Thai lady when she is legally married to the UK man.
There are two ways to get married in Thailand, one is recognized by law and the other will not help you obtain a settlement visa.

Getting your Thai girlfriend into the UK

I am sure you already know that your Thai girlfriend will need a visa to be able to travel to the UK and within this web site – blog there are many pages and posts about this. However to confirm, a Thai girlfriend best option of a visa to the UK is a tourist visa.

Getting your Thai girlfriend into the UK

Getting your Thai girlfriend into the UK, as obvious as they all sound, I will give you a check list of what is required or what is needed.
  • Thai passport
  • UK Tourist Visa
  • Airline ticket return
Ok the list above is real obvious, but what about these suggestions
  • Travel insurance
  • Warm clothing,
  • coats, jumpers, socks, warm shoes.

One of the biggest problems Thai people face while in the UK is the cold, even in the summer Thai people will be cold, very cold. A warm day in the UK lacks humidity and Thai people have lived a life time with the heat and humidity.

Thai Wife Renewing UK Tourist Visa

Thai Wife Renewing UK Tourist Visa

If you are married then you are able to apply for a UK settlement visa which for a married couple is more beneficial than a tourist visa. A tourist visa is issued for 6 months, at which time your Thai wife would have to return to Thailand
Any Thai person travelling to the UK on a tourist visa, when returning to the Thailand will not be able to apply for another tourist visa for 6 months. The visa has to be applied and issued at the British embassy in Bangkok. So your Thai wife is in the UK and the tourist visa is running out, she will not be able to renew or extend the visa, she would have to return to Thailand and wait 6 months before making a new visa application. The British embassy will not issue two tourist visas in one year as they view it that you are abusing the immigration rules.

UK tourist visa cannot be extended or renewed

The UK tourist visa cannot be extended or renewed. When it expires you would need to make a new visa application, a Thai citizen would need to apply in Bangkok.

If you are married to a Thai lady, the best visa is a settlement visa, they take longer to get issued, and at the time of writing this the average time to get a reply from the embassy is 90 days.

How Much Should You Send A Thai Girlfriend

How Much Should You Send A Thai Girlfriend

How much money should you send a Thai girlfriend? this is a very difficult question to answer as every persons situation and relationship is different.

How much money should you send a thai girlfriend. You should not send money that you cannot afford. If you need to send an amount of money that will then leave you short of money, send less. It is no good sending your Thai girlfriend money every month just so you have to sit in every night while you are in the UK.

how much money your Thai girlfriend will want

There is a balance between how much money your Thai girlfriend will want you to send and how much you can afford and how much money you should send.

If you Thai girlfriend is living in Pattaya, she will need a slightly higher amount of money than if she was to return back to the village, though it is not fair to ask your Thai girlfriend to return to the village just to save money, after all who would like to return to a quiet sleepy rice town after spending a few months in the action of Pattaya. Men from the UK arrive in Pattaya for two weeks and don’t like going home to a city, never mind a village.

Your Thai girlfriend will need a certain amount of money

Your Thai girlfriend will need a certain amount of money to pay for her daily costs, these costs will include a room, electric, water, food, entertainment money and then money to send home to the parents.

How much money should you send a Thai girlfriend? If you can afford 15,000 Baht, in my opinion this is the starting point of how much money to send her. Start adding up her living costs, after her parents have received some money and she has paid the rent and electric, she will only have about 2000 Baht a week to eat, drink and entertain herself.

Thai girlfriend Pregnant

Thai girlfriends pregnant

Your Thai girlfriends pregnant and you want to make sure that your baby is a British citizen. When your Thai girlfriend is pregnant, the latest she will be able to fly to the UK while carrying your baby is 6 ½ to 7 months, after which time it is advised not to fly for the safety of the unborn child.

If you would like your Baby to be born in the UK, it is best to arrange the visa for your Thai girlfriend early to ensure it is safe for her to fly.

If for whatever reason your Thai girlfriend cannot get to the UK and your baby is born in Thailand, don’t panic. The baby first would be registered in Thailand, then your baby can be registered with the British embassy in Bangkok, putting you as the father. This would give your baby dual nationality, making your child both Thai and British.

Your Baby would be able to hold two passports, Thai and English. Later in life your child would be able to use either passport when travelling.
Many people try to get their pregnant Thai girlfriend to the UK for the Birth of the baby, sometimes this is difficult if you have not been in a relationship long, as the British embassy will not issue visas on the strength of pregnancy alone.

How do I marry my Thai wife in Thailand

Thailand has two different options available when you want to get married. Thai people have a Buddhist ceremony with 9 monks blessing the couple. This type of marriage is not legally binding and is not recognised anywhere in the world. To get separated from your Thai wife after this type of marriage you just walk away from your Thai wife, you do not need a divorce as the marriage is not legal and binding.

If at any later date the relationship failed and you required a divorce, you would get a divorce through the Thai Judicial system.

Why Thais are refused UK Visas.

Why Thais are refused UK Visas.

Of recent it has become more difficult for a Thai girlfriend or Thai boyfriend to obtain a visa to the UK. The UK has of implemented new guidelines to all immigration officers to try to reduce the amount of human trafficking coming into the UK.
Certain people in the UK trick Thais to come to the UK with promise of work with high pay. The airfare is paid and visa arranged by the person in the UK. When the Thai arrives in the UK there travel documents and passport are removed from them and very often forced to work as a prostitute to pay off the money owed for the airfare to the UK.

When a Thai is caught in this situation it is very hard for them to get out of. If they refuse to work they are beaten and tortured, in a foreign country with no friends or family they have little choice but to follow instructions and hope that they can get away.

Like all rules made to protect people, they also restrict other people. It is obvious why the UK immigration department has made these changes, nobody would like to see a person forced into prostitution.

UK Visa for Thai

As unfair as it seems any Thai national wishing to travel to the UK must apply for a visa at the British embassy in Bangkok.

Men from the UK fly into Thailand and are issued a visa on arrival. This is a visa issued to all British nationals when they arrive; the visa is for tourism and is issued for 30 days. Men that then arrive in Pattaya fall in love with one of the local Thai girls think it is unfair that his new Thai girlfriend will need to apply for a visa with no guarantee she will be issued it.

Thai girl applying for UK Visa

To give you an idea what is required to get a visa for your Thai girlfriend to travel to the UK, you must be able to provide evidence to the British embassy that a relationship really exists between the Thai lady and UK man. For a UK man that has been to Pattaya once and only known his Thai girlfriend for 2 – 3 months, there simply is no way that a UK visa will be issued for the Thai girlfriend. There is no evidence to suggest that this is an ongoing relationship.
